Takashi Murakami, the japanese artist,  is best known to all of us for his kitchy floral Louis Vuitton designs. Now he has produced a short film/ vidoe clip starring Kirsten Dunst, who apparently thinks she is “turning japanese”. He catches the japanese consumerism and the meaningless glitter and glamour of japanese consumption culture. Murakami is one of the artists who has built a huge marketing apparatus for selling his art to the mainstream, mainly by merchandising articles, thus criticising the downfall of art itself.  He has worked together with Kanye West for his video “Good Morning”. To me as a dog, it all quite looks like candy, so: I like.
