Besides fashion I also love art and I am always looking for new artist worth knowing.
Lately I found a young painter from the midwest USA. Originally Michel Keck does very abstract mixed media paintings. But sometimes she workes in more figurative patchwork kind of style too. So I wanted to show you one of her collages I personally like the most.
Look at that, isn’t it just great?
Art to bark
November 26th, 2010A doggish Halloween celebration
November 12th, 2010I know Halloween is over, but maybe you still haven’t had enough of pumpkinsoup for this year or you can keep this as a tip for next year’s celebration. Halloween pumpkins do not have to be scarry. They can also be just beautyful like this one here. Isn’t that hilarious? Although I think that’s really the most beautiful one, here you can download 26 more stencils for what ever your favourite dog is.
Look what I found in NYC!
October 25th, 2010As I have already told you from my point of view, 22cm above the ground, most fashionable things I get to see are shoes. So that’s the reason why I’ve got some kind of a thing for them. Last week I went on a very exciting trip to New York. I tell you, the flight was horribly long and the city is really a bit too hectic and dangerous for a little dog like me. But that’s the reason why I got carried around most of the time – lucky me! Because otherwise probably wouldn’t have seen that wonderful synthesis of a shoe and a cuddly doss they sold on an antique market:
Bye-bye summer!
September 28th, 2010Seems like summertime is gone for good. Well, at least for this year. So let‘s bring back our last sweet memories of late summers warming sunlight.
I went to Potsdam for a nice long walk and casually made a new friend. He is a Chihuahua, just like me, and his name is Simson. He is only 5 month old. Isn‘t he sweet and innocent? How I‘d wish to be that young carefree again sometimes!
Then again there are also lots of amenities of an adult‘s life…
Candy Dogs
September 19th, 2010I just came across the current shampoo and conditioner advertising of Vitakraft a German manufacturer of pet products. The campaign was shoot by London based photographer Tim Mitchell and shows some interessting still nonetheless slightly strange creativity. “Shampoo For You Beauty. For softer and sweeter hair” is the slogan for their new canine haircare. Softer hair sounds tempting and I really like to take care of my good looks, but I am not sure what they meen by “sweeter hair”. I starkly don’t want to look like candyfloss and liquorice and be put on a stick…
Beauty Sleep
August 31st, 2010Fashion is hot, fashion is beautiful. But who said fashion is uncomfortable? Beauty knows no pain, but it doesn’t have to. See how comfortable fashion can be! I just love to lie on those soft and sensuous Gretchen leatherbags! Fortunately there are a few preproduction models I’m aloud to use as a cuddly pillow…
My stocking experience
June 10th, 2010So this time I didn’t get nice shoes to see … But unfortunately also not nice stockings … Well they have been nice once and orange and red are also some of my favourite colours. But who did that? I like to play with stockings filled with hay and a funny face of buttons, so lovely made. But I guess someone didn’t want me to create a chaos and kind of overdressed my stocking toys. Well I’ve got a little respect for such a sharp style.

Disney’s Designers
April 18th, 2010Spanish ELLE for April 2010 has brought us a funny series of drawings. Goofy turns into Karl Lagerfeld, Minnie Mouse is Donatella Versace and Donald Duck embodies John Galliano. All these great Disney Characters were drawn by Illustrator Ulrich Schröder. Great and funny idea, I love illustration anyways, so keep that up, please!

Kirsten Dunst and Takashi Murakami
March 28th, 2010Takashi Murakami, the japanese artist, is best known to all of us for his kitchy floral Louis Vuitton designs. Now he has produced a short film/ vidoe clip starring Kirsten Dunst, who apparently thinks she is “turning japanese”. He catches the japanese consumerism and the meaningless glitter and glamour of japanese consumption culture. Murakami is one of the artists who has built a huge marketing apparatus for selling his art to the mainstream, mainly by merchandising articles, thus criticising the downfall of art itself. He has worked together with Kanye West for his video “Good Morning”. To me as a dog, it all quite looks like candy, so: I like.

Kirsten Dunst
